Two Dresden Blocks Complete...and Another Appliqué Block Started

I did get my dresden on! I decided to machine appliqué the circle to the center and the dresden plate to the background.

Two blocks complete!

And you knew I had to do this, didn't you? Boom. Here I go AGAIN! This time I made sure that the center circle is EXACTLY in the middle of the outer circle. I also found a fun fabric to put in the center. AND I remade a few of my little templates. I think my 'finger' template was a bit crooked before - hence 32 crooked fingers on the last block.

So this afternoon I cut 32 new fingers (straight ones!), even fussy cutting some of them. And you may notice something else different. I have decided not to do back basting on the tiny pieces.

I'm ready to give it another go! These fabrics do look more like me, don't they? These are mostly Kaffe's with a few Cherrywood solids thrown in for good measure. It reminds me of the bag of jelly beans Hubby got for his birthday - lots of happy colors.

And here's my little herb garden. I have basil, mint, cilantro, rosemary, and parsley. (I ordered the pot from Target.) A good day! Just realized everything I showed today is a circle! Love me a circle!

Have a happy hump day!

  1. The other RFLQ was pretty but I do like this one much better. This color pallet will give you many more options. Even with a giant bag of scraps I have sometimes struggled to find the "right" piece of fabric for an element.
