I'm a Farmer's Daughter

Here's the final arrangement of Farmer's Daughter blocks. The pattern calls for small 8-pointed stars to be appliquéd on each of the setting triangles, but I think it looks good as is. So I think I'll machine sew the blocks together and call it a day - except for quilting, of course.

Many people were surprised that my design walls didn't make the cut when we moved into our cottage. But I don't miss them! I found that they were always cluttered with various blocks and projects. When I really wanted to use them I had to clear them off first. Now these various blocks and quilts in progress live in bins on a shelf. When I need to play with blocks I lay them out on our bed and then take a picture when I'm happy with it. I can refer to the picture when sewing the blocks together.

Mickey got a new toy over the weekend and he is absolutely in love with it. Cooper got one, too, but he's not quite as enamored. The squeak spooks Cooper a bit.

Enjoy your day!

  1. Well, you are a wonderful "farmer's daughter"! This top is great!!!! I like your layout and the triangle pieces work so well. You didn't use all the blocks or did you? Either way...it's wonderful!

  2. p.s. Love the dog pic! HOW SWEET!!!!! Mickey just looks like he loves his new toy!!!
