It's Almost a Dress!

I'm making progress. I only have one more curved piece to stitch in place and then I'll be ready to finish the arm holes and add the collar. If you noticed that gathered spot at the bottom...it's supposed to be there.

Here's what it will look like. The details will not be very visible with this busy fabric, but if I like the way it fits I plan to make it a more simple knit. Cute pattern, isn't it? I wonder if my daughters would like one, of course in a more sophisticated, work appropriate fabric.

Dinner last night: frozen supreme pizza. I rearrange it before it goes in the oven because Hubby doesn't like pepper and olives and I do! We are both happy - haha!

We have another hurricane headed toward us. Nate is not as strong as the last one, but this time we are on the 'bad' side. It's expected to be here tonight and tomorrow.

Hope you have some relaxing time today...

Another Flower

I got back to Bring Me Flowers yesterday - yay me! First I made this little diamond unit.

And then I appliquéd it to the unit. These are cute, aren't they. I need to make 2 more of the little units to make one block.

Hubby and I went out to lunch. I looked down and realized my clothing totally matched the napkin at the restaurant - I fit right in!

So what's up  today? I would like to sew a couple more seams on that dress. And make another little flower unit. And I really want to find a small pile of blocks I made years ago - I have an idea for them, if and when I find them - haha! I know they're here somewhere...

Quick Meals

I did sew some on the dress yesterday. I'm making progress!

Since I'm busy with this October non-sewing project and don't have much sewing to share...I thought I'd write a post on quick meals today. We all have those nights when we need a fast meal, don't we?

Have you ever eaten corned beef hash? I just dump this in a lightly oiled skillet and crisp it up. Serve with scrambled eggs and toast - delicious and fast!

These Chile Lime Chicken Burgers from Trader Joe's are a good option - another fast one. Try Trader's Joe's frozen Butter Chicken individual meals, too - so yummy!

And here's another one - frozen burritos. Only 310 calories! I zap them in the microwave and serve them with salsa and a salad.

Okay, I know it's not that cooked-from-scratch, full-of-fresh-vegetables, home-cooked-goodness. BUT, for busy days everyone needs a few quick meals in their wheel house! I hope this gives you a few ideas.

I've got my list of three thing to do made for today - and it includes working on a quilt!!!! Yippee!

Have a great day!

New Fabric!

I know, I know... I'm trying not to buy fabric unless I absolutely NEED it! I simply have no place to store any more fabric and need to use what I have. BUT, I did need this sweet eyelash fabric. I'm planning to make some cute zippered pouches with this for my Rodan and Fields customers as Christmas presents. I'll probably tuck a little gift inside.

This was a couple of nights ago. I let the dogs sleep with me since Hubby was gone. Mickey is under the covers so you can't see him, but I promise he's there, too. They were really good and even let me sleep late.

I spent the entire morning cleaning the house. You wouldn't think it would take so long to clean this small house, but I did some extra things I usually don't do. Now it is done and everything looks and smells fresh. Ahhh.

And then there's this other thing I'm working on...mostly on my computer. It has absolutely nothing to do with quilting. But it must be done this month and will take the entire month and then some. I'll tell you all about when it is done, I promise. But I'll still be able to fit in some sewing time. I don't want to lose momentum on my quilting projects.

And other news...a new Rodan and Fields product is coming out later this week. I'm so excited to find out what it is. These products have been life changing for me and that's why I wanted to become a Consultant. I truly believe in quality of this skincare and the fact that it WORKS!

Don't forget to get a flu shot soon! There are already cases of flu. I'm getting mine today.

Enjoy your day!

More Binding Made...

I made more binding yesterday, this time for I'm A Farmer's Daughter. I used the fabric I'd trimmed from the excess backing of New Bedford - it was close at hand!

I love the quilting pattern - curly and fun! Now I have TWO quilts ready to hand stitch binding.

I don't know what I'll work on today. Maybe I'll finally get back to that dress. But first I need to vacuum! And throw some clothes in the laundry. Hubby has been out of town for a couple of days - his mother has been in the hospital. But all is well now and he'll be home later today. Yay!

Have a great one!

Sewing!!! And Sadness....

I prepared this happy blog post last night. And I wake up this morning to the horror that happened overnight in Las Vegas. I was listening to this very concert on my car radio earlier in the day as I went here and there. Prayers for Las Vegas.

And now the blog post...

Look at me! I sewed! This was easy - I had cut the binding pieces way back when I cut out the quilt in the early Spring. All I had to do was sew them together and press. And then I stitched it onto New Bedford. Ready for hand sewing!

I also made some progress on another project. Woohoo!

And I went to a clothing party - yes, I bought a couple of new pieces. And then I did a grocery pickup at Walmart. A very good day, indeed.

Today I hope to make the binding for I'm A Farmer's Daughter. And maybe work on the dress? This dress I'm making? It's really for Spring/Summer. But if I like it I may make another one in fall colors.

Enjoy your day. Be safe. Be thankful.

Sewing????

Sewing? What sewing?

I did sew a good bit Wednesday, but nothing really to show for it. I have less errands/meeting this week, so I'm hoping to be more productive. That dress above? I would love to finish it this week.

I have some beautiful knits and I'd really like to make another dress when I finish the one above.

That secret project? I want to work on it a good bit.

The two quilts recently back from the long armer? I want to make and apply the binding.

If I can do all the above, I'll be a very happy camper!

It didn't help that I had a killer headache yesterday and was pretty much useless. But I woke up feeling wonderful today! And when I took the doggies outside: FALL is here! It's actually COOL! Yippee!

Enjoy your day!
