Fountain City Quilt Show!
I had a fabulous weekend at the Fountain City Quilt Show. Many thanks to the wonderful quilters of Prattville! And many thanks to Daughter 1, who spent her precious Saturday helping me!
I loved having the 2014 BOM's hanging in a row - don't they look great together?
I met so many wonderful and inspiring quilters. Had a blast sharing how to make hexies from circles! Comments I heard:
"Wow!"
"Oh my goodness!"
"I wish I'd learned this before I made a grandmother's flower garden!"
"You've got to be kidding!"
"It's like magic!"
"That's so fast!"
"How in the world did you figure that out?"
And many quilters' jaws literally dropped! Lots of wide open mouths (in amazement!)
Here I am in my booth - not bad for having never set up a booth before, huh?
Here's the pile of hexies made by both me and Daughter 1 during demos on Saturday. The pile grew on Sunday! I may be drawing from this pile to design the April block.
If you are new to the blog (and I know many of you are!), the block of the month patterns are posted on the first of each month. I have tabs for each month's pattern at the top of the blog. I suggest you go back and read all the older posts here on the blog since the first of the year to learn all the details about fabric requirements, size of background squares, etc. It's all there!
And if you are new and want to do the free block of the month quilt, please join the Yahoo group here:

You are so clever with your hexies. Lovely blocks hanging in a row there. I wonder what colour I should start to make to have some ready when next month comes.
ReplyDeleteIt was such a pleasure to meet you at the Fountain City Quilt Guild quilt show in Prattville, AL this weekend and see what you have done to simply and demystify the hexie. I look foward to trying this out for myself.
