ARE YOU READY!? I am! I've planned a fun blog hop to help introduce Quick and Easy Hexie Quilts. I'm so excited!! Can you tell? :-) I want everyone to see how easy and fast hexies can be when made out of circles of fabric - no paper, no plastic pieces, no basting! Yay!

A Rainbow of Hexies

This array of hexies just makes me smile! I took lots of my scraps, cut them in circles (with my handy dandy Accuquilt!), and did my hexie thing with them. What a great use for scraps! Some of these I made in Portland during our demo session. The rest I've made since I've been back - a few minutes here and a few minutes there. Before you know it I had tons!

This one has to be my favorite!

I use my FABULOUS Aurifil thread to make the hexies and to stitch them together.

I designed a new pattern (yes, since Portland!) and I could wait to use these hexies for it. I've already made a good start on sewing the hexies together this morning. Love it! Can't wait to share...

Quilting Outside

We are having gorgeous weather these days - hot, hot, hot and sunny. As soon as the shade covered part of the patio yesterday, I took my latest hand quilting project ( yup, you know it's a hexie quilt!) outside. How relaxing...  Have you ever quilted outside?

Quilt Market!!!!

I'm back home from Quilt Market - a remarkable experience! That's Peggy there on the left and I'm on the right (looking very tired). And you probably know who that is in the middle - yes, the infamous Alex Anderson, who taught me to quilt, though she doesn't know it!

I learned to quilt by watching Alex's show, Simply Quilts, on HGTV as a stay-at-home mom. And now she and Ricky Tims do a great job of continuing their mission of sharing quilting with the world through The Quilt Show.

Alex happened across our demo of the Quick and Easy Hexie technique on Friday at Market. She LOVED the way we make hexies! She lingered for quite some time and told the shop owners watching our demo how wonderful our method would be to share at their shops. She turned to the AQS staff at the booth and told them, "This is FANTASTIC!"

Alex invited us to be on The Quilt Show, too! That will happen very soon! What fun we had - so excited to finally share this fun, fast, and easy technique with the quilt world!

New Project

I really need to be finishing the other THREE projects that are in progress....but I had this quilt in my head and needed to get it out. Do you ever have a quilt in your head that's waiting patiently to come to life in fabric?
