Antique Hexies!


Yesterday at my small sewing group, someone brought these to show me.  Yes, I already seem to be known as the Hexie Queen here in Auburn though I've lived here less than 6 months!

Look at those TINY stitches!  I had to show the back so you can see how neatly they are put together.


These units were made by my new friend's husbands great grandmother - how special is that!  She is carefully appliquéing the hexie flowers onto background squares before turning the blocks into quilts.  What a great way to preserve them!

    Does it matter what size the hexie's are? As long as they remain the same size, seems they could be most any size? I think I have an antique one similar to this! It was popular back then. I may try doing some of these! Thanks.
